Research & Development

Introduction

Our Research & Development department is constantly looking for innovations which can be used in customer specific products. We like to be involved in discussions with our customers and come up with the best solutions.

Projects start commonly with an idea or a specific request from a customer after which our R&D department starts evaluating the request. A block diagram is made after which the potential components are investigated. An estimation of the project costs (incl. BOM costs, etc) are presented. The optimum solution is determined after a healthy discussion with our customer.

Then R&D starts actual development. Schematic and PCB entry, 3D CAD design, VHDL and software development. Everything comes together during the first prototype tests. Debugging of hardware and software is started, resulting in design changes and new prototypes. The customer will receivesthe prototype and evaluate the product.

The required design changes will be implemented and re-evaluation takes place until the moment that the product is mature enough to be produced in a small series (null-series). Evaluation of the null-series takes place and fine-tuning is realized after which mass production is initiated.

Not everything will work the first time. So debugging of hardware and software is started. New prototypes may be required. All design changes are closely monitored. At a certain moment the customer receives the prototype and will evaluate the product.
